Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence
Over the past two years, the Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence has redeveloped and improved its facilities. The addition of a new grass pitch as well as extended food and beverage areas means it is the ideal place for the whole family.
With 5 pitches and the possibility of 10 games being played at once, the JAYL Super Series promises to be one of the highlights of the football calendar.
The players will be playing on the same pitches that International and Champions League players have trained on days before the Super Series begins. Needless to say that the JA Centre of Excellence is one of the best facilities in the Middle East to play football.
- 16 teams will be broken down into 4 groups of 4 teams (groups will be selected at random for the first week)
- Every team will play 6 games per tournament day including 3 x group games and then 3 x playoff games.
- In the result of a draw, playoff games will be decided by a sudden death penalty shootout.
The Tournament point system will be as below –
- 3 Points for a win
- 1 point for a draw
- 0 points for a loss
If a team does not show for any matches, the opposition team will receive a 3-0 win as a walkover and 3 points will be awarded. The final group positions will be determined by the total points accumulated over the course of the tournament.
If any of the positions are to be equal, the following methods will be applied to decide the positions:
- The team with higher goal difference
- The team with most goals scored
- The team with least goals conceded
- The accumulated result of the fixtures between both teams
- If in any case, the result is not determined. A toss of a coin will be held.
Teams must be present at the field of play 5 minutes before the scheduled time of kick-off. Failure to turn up on time will result in the team forfeiting the match.
JAYL Super Series Format
After each game week, teams will be awarded a number of points, dependent on where they have finished in the tournament.
The team that finishes winner of the Cup competition, will be awarded 16 points, and this will decrease to 1 point for the team that finishes last in the Shield competition.
These points will then determine the groups for the next two game weeks.
The team with the most points at the end of the three game weeks will be crowned winners of the JA Super Series.
